Browns project scoping study underground lead mine, NT

Joint venture partners (HNC Pty Ltd)

VALUE: $1.7M
SCOPE: Deliver to the JV partners the recommended production rate, mine design, mining method, and backfill for a future underground lead mine. It also included resource definition and grade, geotechnical stability and proposed processing methodology.
KEY ACHIEVEMENTS: Successfully delivered the scoping study for a future 2MTPA underground lead mine.

On site waste discharge management, Batchelor, NT

Joint venture partners (HNC Pty Ltd)

VALUE: $1M per annum
SCOPE: Negotiated waste discharge parameters with NTEPA. Treated, monitored and discharged water as per licence conditions. Separation of various types of wastewater such as surface water run-off. In-pit water management, Tailings Dam water treatment involving crushing limestone to dose/treat before discharge.
KEY ACHIEVEMENTS: Successful negotiation of waste discharge licence (WDL) and management of onsite water.

Area 55 environmental and mining approval for future open cut mine

Joint venture partners (HNC Pty Ltd)

VALUE: $3.2M
SCOPE: Prepare environmental impact statement (EIS) as per NT environmental legislation. Resource definition, grade control, processing method, pit design, waste rock management, mining method and community relations. Local employment policy.
KEY ACHIEVEMENTS: Scoped and costed the EIS, established regional ground water monitoring and successfully completed various pit designs, proposed mining methods including use of a Vermeer continuous miner. Established background environmental key markers.

Regional ground water monitoring program as part of area 55 EIS

Joint venture partners (HNC Pty Ltd)

VALUE: $1M per annum
SCOPE: Establish conceptual draw down effect of mine dewatering on surrounding bores (on neighbouring properties) to assess options for mitigating any adverse effects of the draw down.
KEY ACHIEVEMENTS: Established a network of representative monitoring bores, conducted public forums for surrounding stakeholders, produced a theoretical drawdown cone both laterally and in 3D and provided feedback on water quality data to landowners.

Scope: Final construction, pre-commissioning and commissioning of 490MW combined cycle power plant. This included the 5 gas turbine generators, 5 HRSGs and 3 steam turbine generators. Scope involved all mechanical and electrical HV (including EEHA) commissioning, including additional chemical cleaning, NDT, water treatment and polishing for FSU.
Key achievements: SIMOPS integration with major contractors to accelerate commissioning and completion of final project on Icythys.

Icythys combined cycle power plant (CCP9)

value: $10M+
client:Kawasaki Heavy Industries
Scope:Commissioning of 2 x LNG tanks of 240,000 cubic metres, 1 x Propane Tank of 180,000 cubic metres, 1 x Butane Tank of 180,000 cubic metres
Key achievements: Work completed on each tank under 35 days whilst achieving low negative dew point during wet season.

Ichthys LNG, Propane and Butane Tank Commissioning (TNK1)

value: $50M+
client: JKC Construction Services
Scope: Pre - Commissioning of LNG Trains 1 & 2 (Total 8.9MTPA) , Slug Catcher, AGRU Degrease. Scope also included water treatment and chemical cleaning
Key achievements:: SIMOPS integration with numerous other construction packages (inc MEC1, MEC2, ELE1, CVL9). Project completed to schedule. .
